Ranchhodbhai Patel Obituary

Ranchhodbhai Patel of 35 Via Maria Street, Lee, MA died the evening of March 17, 2024 after spending the day surrounded by family.

Son of Parsottambhai Patel and Gangaben Patel. He was born in Bodali Village of Navsari city in India in 1934. He passed primary and secondary education and went to Garda College in Navsari.  Before he finished college, he got an opportunity to go to Rhodesia, now known as Zambia. While established there in Zambia he came back to Bodali, India to get married. After marrying his wife Puspaben Patel, they moved to Zambia where their three boys were born and raised with lots of love.

When the opportunity came to join his brothers Babubhai and Manubhai and sister Ruxmaniben in the USA, he with the family immigrated to the United States in 1978 to provide better life and opportunities for the family and children. That same year, he purchased the Sunset Motel in Lee, MA which he owned and carefully maintained for 46 years until his death.  He became a U.S. citizen on March 4, 1984.

Ranchhodbhai leaves behind his wife, Puspaben, sons, Rajesh (Jacqueline) of Boston, MA; Mahendra (Smita) of Parsippany, NJ; and Kiren Patel of Lee, MA. He also leaves 3 grandchildren; Jayna, Preya, and Amisha Patel. He was predeceased by his brother Govinbhai Patel. He is survived by his brothers Vallubbhai Patel, Manubhai Patel and Sister Ruxmaniben Patel.

Except for the last year suffering from health issues Ranchhodbhai lived a very happy life with the family. His contribution in raising his three sons with a quality education and career opportunities were worth praising and congratulating. He will be missed and remembered by the family, friends and many others who came to know him for many many years to come.

Per Ranchhodbhai’s request, there will be no calling hours. Private Hindu services were held followed by cremation.
