James Paul Harford, 60, of Orchard Street in Pittsfield passed away at home on Monday, January 10, 2011 after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield on January 31, 1950 he was the son of Frederick and Ann Flynn Harford. He grew up in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1969. He was the owner of The Appalachian Press in Lee from 1977 to 1986. He later worked for various printers in the area. Jim was a former member of the Evening Star Lodge AF & AM of Lee. He loved boating on Lake Ashmere in Hinsdale. Mr. Harford leaves one son, Jeffrey P. Harford of Pittfield, two daughters; Tracy L. Cavanaugh and her fiancée James Venuti of North Andover, MA, and Kelly Powers and her husband Nathan of Pittsfield, three brothers, Frederick Harford, David Harford of Torrington, CT and Brian Harford of Pittsfield; one sister, Constance Carnevale of Springfield and three grandchildren, Patrick, Sean and Tyler. He also leaves his former wife, Lynn Lanoue of Monterey. Visiting hours for James Harford will be Monday from 5-7 at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.
