It is with sincere sadness that the family of Alan Emerson Stedman announce his passing on October 19, 2026.

Alan was born on February 22, 1949. He grew up and was educated in Lee, where he was a long-time papermaker. In 1971, he married Pauline A. Belanger, and together they raised five children.

In his younger years, leisure time was spent building and flying model airplanes, working on home projects (both his and those of his friends), trying to pass on his dance moves, and standing in on his sons' band practices.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, commitment to provide, long thoughtful talks about history (family and otherwise) and lifelong love of collecting coins.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Pauline A. Stedman, sister Lorraine Stedman, children Alana Vlahopoulos (Dean), Joshua Stedman, Joseph Stedman, Samantha Stedman, and Amanda Stedman; grandchildren Omari Smith, who was raised by his grandparents Alan and Pauline, Julia Vassar (John), Nicholas Vlahopoulos, Kristi, Autumn, and Jared Stedman, Xain, Sasha, Nye, and Elizabeth Stedman, Amelia and Asa Sturz, and Dwayne Ortiz.

Per Alan's wishes, there will be no services.
