Arthur J. Snide, 82, of 169 Valentine Rd. in Pittsfield, formerly of Tabar Ave in Lee, died Friday at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Williamstown on October 13, 1932 the son of J. Arthur and Rose Henze Snide, He was educated in the schools there and at the former Berkshire School for Cripple Children in Pittsfield. After his marriage in 1967 to the former Madeline Bunker he moved to Pittsfield, then to Stockbridge and to Lee in 1972, where he operated Snide Janitorial Service. His wife died in 1986. While in Lee he was communicant of St. Mary's Church a member of Berkshire Hills Council No 314 Knights of Columbus, Bishop Conaty Assemble 4th degree Knights of Columbus and the Exchange Club of Pittsfield. He was a frequent donor to the American Red Cross Blood Drive . Art leaves his brother Francis M. Snide and his wife Bernadette of Pownal, Vt. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Gertrude M. Peters and Catherine L. Bleau The Funeral for Arthur Snide will be held on Thursday April 2nd at 11AM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.
