Claire W. Daigle, 82, of Sir Edwards Way, Becket, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Hartford, CT on March 29, 1931, she was the daughter of Walter and Claire Weinz. She was educated in Hartford, graduating from Hartford Public High School in 1949. Claire married her husband, Franklin Daigle, on December 4, 1954. She worked as a secretary at Chandler and Evans in West Hartford, CT, retiring after 40 years of service. In 1981, she and Frank resided in Becket, MA on a part time basis, and relocated there permanently following their retirement in 1993. Claire was a member of the Becket Federated Church, as well as a member of the Eastern Star and a member and former secretary of the Becket Senior Citizens Group. She also enjoyed reading. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Franklin. Claire also leaves her brother, Barry Weinz of Bloomfield, CT, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Richard. Funeral services for Claire Daigle will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 AM at The Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238, with the Rev. Kevin Smail, pastor of the Becket Federated Church, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service Saturday morning from 9:30-11:00. Following cremation, burial will be scheduled at a later date. Friends wishing may make memorial donations in Claire's honor to the Becket Federated Church, in care of the funeral home.
