David Fitzgerald, 79, of Otis, MA and Ft. Pierce, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, CT. He was born in Hartford, CT on October 20, 1936, the son of Joseph and Margret Luby Fitzgerald. He graduated from New Britain High School. He proudly served in the US Navy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara White Fitzgerald. David was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee and Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach, FL. He was owner and President of Fitzgerald Cleaning Company & Masco Building Services in Farmington, CT; a former president & Director of the Otis Reservoir Property Association and the Driftwood Community Shores, a member of the New Britain Elks Club, Knights of Columbus & East Farms Volunteer Fire Department in Farmington, He enjoyed his family, golfing, fishing, boating and walks on the beach. Besides his wife, David is survived by: his son; David Fitzgerald and daughter in law Eileen of Cromwell, CT, his daughter; Deborah Fienemann and son in law Jeffrey of Ocala, FL, his brother; Laurence Fitzgerald of Cotuit, MA, his five grandchildren; Michelle, Heather, Amanda, Thomas and Pamela and four great grandchildren; Riley, Ayden, Isa and Julian. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, December 30th, 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Church in Lee.
