Dorothy D. Dewkett, 91, died Tuesday, January 26th, at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Laurel Lake in Lee, where she resided. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 9, 1924 the daughter of Virgil and Lela May Gilliam Brannan. Her family moved to California when she was a child and she was educated in the school systems there. She moved to Lee in 1945 but always held her love for California. Her husband, Arthur D. Dewkett Jr. whom she married June 7, 1945, died November 3, 1998. Dorothy leaves her two sons, Harold F. Dewkett of Columbia Falls, MT, and Donald G. Duquette and his wife Wendelyn, of Waterbury Center, VT; and her daughter, Shirley A. Ovens and her husband Latham, of Lee. She also leaves six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Brannan, her twin, and Virgil Brannan; and her sister, Juanita Strater. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.
