George M. Lavalle, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in South Lee on July 29th. He was born in Northampton on December 30, 1951, the eldest son of the late George and Shirley Golas Lavalle, formally of Haydenville, MA. He attended Williamsburg High School and received a degree at the University of New Mexico. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Diane who died on March 1, 1990. He is survived by his three children: Adrienne Lavalle and her partner Colin of Milan, NY; George A. Lavalle and his wife Tanya of Pittsfield; and Melanie Lavalle and her fiancée Kyle of Pittsfield. He is also survived by his longtime partner, Linda White of Otis; Two brothers; Robbie Lavalle and his wife Tracey of North Hampton and Billy Lavalle of Leeds, MA and a granddaughter Kaedyn Lavalle of Hinsdale, MA George enjoyed traveling the United States and reading about its history. He retired from the former Mead / Mead Westvaco Mills in South Lee after 35 years of service. Services will be announced by the family.
