Georgette M. Sorrentino, 89, of Old Pleasant St. in Lee, died Tuesday at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Housatonic on June 19, 1925 the daughter of Louis and Clementine Hograindleur Mermet and was a 1943 graduate of the former Searles High School in Gt. Barrington. After her marriage to Angelo "Sal" Sorrentino on October 13, 1945 she moved to Lee. Her husband died in 2005. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed following the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Celtics. She loved going to the Casinos and her Sun Porch. She leaves her two daughters Linda M. Rilla and her husband Richard and Sally A. Cornwell and her husband Daniel both of Pittsfield. She also leaves six grandchildren Michael, Thomas, Wendy, Cynthia, Willow and Dirck and five great grandchildren: Maia, Rowan, Noah, Alex and Jordan. She was predeceased by her brothers George and Louis and her sisters Yvonne Sinico, Marcelline Bissell, Jeanette Gattasso and Blanche Buratto. The Funeral for Georgette Sorrentino will be held Friday morning at 10 from the Kelly Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. John K. Sheaffer, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Visiting hours will be Friday morning from 9am to10am.
