Obituary

Henry "Rico" Joseph Smachetti, 92, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Rico was born on April 3, 1933, to Frederick and Rosa Smachetti.

Rico attended Lee High School, graduating with his class in 1951. After high school he enlisted in the US Army defending his country serving in the Korean War. He then completed some college at Bryant University. After school he was employed by Lee Lime Corporation. After his retirement Rico was employed by Dufour Bus Company driving school bus for 20 more years. The kids on Rico's route always got home the quickest.

Rico had many hobbies including hunting, fishing golfing, pretty much anything that kept him outdoors. He also had a passion for gardening. He was the perfect person for community policing. Many people were "saved" in various forms of the word due to his tremendous heart.
