Obituary

Jane Langer, of Lee, passed away at home on the morning of October 27, 2026, just weeks shy of her 80th birthday.

Born in Pittsfield on November 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Janet (Osak) Zaorski. Jane was educated in local schools, and went on to graduate from Mt. Greylock Regional High School in 1964.

On April 29, 1979, Jane went on to marry the love of her life, Jerry Langer. Sadly, he predeceased her in 2012.

Jane worked in human services in her adult life, be it as a legal secretary, human resources, or any other administrative roles. She retired in 2007, after many years of dedicated service to her profession.

Jane enjoyed skiing, quilting, walking, spinning, and golf, where over many years, she was able to meet some of her lifelong friends. In her later years, she discovered her passion for mahjongg. Her immediate family was very precious to her, as they rallied around her needs later in life.

Besides her parents and husband, Jane was predeceased by her sisters Ann L. Harrison and Kathleen I. Storie, brothers-in-law James Harrison, David Storie, and Leo Croteau, and a stepson, Michael Langer.

Jane is survived by a sister, Barbara Ann Croteau, nieces and nephews Heather Croteau, Curt (Rachel) Croteau, Jim (Michelle) Harrison, Jeffrey (Wendy) Harrison, Glen (Beth) Storie, Lisa (Jeff) Dean, Deborah Storie, and Andrea Overbaugh; great-nieces and nephews Jake, Michael, Jessica, Melanie, Jaclyn, Nathan, and Nicole, as well as great-great-niece Leah and great-great-nephew Jack.  She also leaves her stepdaughter Cheryl (Vince) Cordova and her family.

Funeral services for Jane will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at St. Helena's Chapel in Lenox, at 10:30. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts or the Berkshire Humane Society, both in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
