Joan M. Airoldi, 79, formerly of Leonard Ave in Lee, died Tuesday morning at the Laurel Lake Center in Lee. She was born in New York City on January 13, 1934, the daughter of Alfred and Ester Santoli Guardino. Joan was raised in Brooklyn where she attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and graduated from Bishop McDonald Memorial High School. On October 1, 1960, she married James J. Airoldi and moved to Lee. Her husband died on December 25, 1994. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee, a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting. Mrs. Airoldi is survived by two sons; Christopher J. Airoldi and his wife Sandy of Kennebunk, ME and Dr. James A. Airoldi and his wife Tara of Bethlehem, PA. Two daughters; Ann C. Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Fredericksburg, VA and Carolyn M. Finnegan and her husband Jimmy of Lee. A sister Patricia Guardino of Lindenhurst, NY and Nine Grandchildren. She is predeceased by two sisters; Lorraine Grandinetti and Dolores Soboul. Funeral services for Joan M. Airoldi will be held on Thursday morning at 11 AM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee with the Rev. John Scheaffer, Pastor of St. Mary's Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Her family will greet friends Thursday morning from 10 AM until the start of the service.
