Joseph Anthony Dellea, 73, of Lee passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Fairview Commons of Great Barrington. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on February 6, 1944, a son of the late Guy & Marguerite Dellea. Joseph graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1962. From there he entered the United States Airforce, and due to medical reasons, unfortunately had an honorary discharge soon after joining. He was employed at Beloit Corporation for over 20 years. When Joe was growing up, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool and loved dancing. Before entering the nursing homes, you could always find Joe and Janet at The Cape! Although Joe spent the last portion of his life in nursing homes he never complained or lost his sense of humor; you could always count on him to make you laugh. Joe leaves his wife, the former Janet Gilbert, whom he was married to for 47 years. He is also survived by his five sisters, Jeanne Scapin & Yvonne Scapin of Lee; Theresa McMahon, Laura Dellea, & Patricia Kilmartin of Pittsfield; one brother, Paul Dellea & his wife Cathy of North Adams; an aunt and uncle, many cousins, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Daisy. Joe's last wishes were to be cremated and to have a Mass at the St. Mary's Church in Lee, to be determined at a later date.
