J. Richard "Dick" Lawrence, 80, of Norfolk CT formerly of Cape St. in East Lee, died Monday March 2nd at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was born in Pittsfield on May 19, 1934 the son of Joseph and Emma Blackledge Lawrence. He was educated in the Otis and Lee Schools and was a1952 graduate of Lee High School. He had worked for the Canteen Corp. in Pittsfield for 27 years where he retired as supervisor. He then worked for Comalli Electric in Pittsfield. He and his wife the former Florence "Peachie" Soucie whom he married May 19, 1956 made their home in Norfolk CT since 1997. His wife died Nov. 6, 2009. Dick leaves his daughters Susan L. Lawrence of Johns Creek, GA, Sharon L. Lawrence of St. James, NY and Sally L. Lawrence of Austin, TX; six grandchildren Sebastian, Benjamin, Alix, Matthew, Kathryn and Emma. The funeral will be held on Friday morning March 6th at 11am at the First Congregational Church in Lee, with the Rev. Bill Neil, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at the Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Kelly Funeral Home will be Thursday from 4-7. In lieu of Flowers those wishing may make donations to First Congregational Church Restoration Fund in Care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St. Lee, MA 01238.
