Julia M. Barnes, 93, of Christian Hill Road in Gt. Barrington, died Thursday January 7th at Fairview Commons. She was born in Gt. Barrington on May 30, 1922 the daughter of Walter F. And Catherine Tracy Atwood Sr. She was a 1940 graduate of the former Searles High School. Mrs. Barnes worked for many years at the Mill River Post Office retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield. She is survived by her son Robert L. Barnes of Richmond, her daughter, Scheri Graybeal of Villages in Florida and Sheffield; one brother, Walter F. Atwood Jr. of Housatonic; and two granddaughters, Kristen and Catherine. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Atwood and her sister Helen Frulla. A Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Peters Cemetery in Gt. Barrington.
