Karen Joan Touponce passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 after a long illness. May she now know the peace that was sometimes difficult to find in her life. She was born in Great Barrington on March 8, 1956 to Jules Touponce and Stella Kania Touponce. She grew up in Stockbridge, MA, attending the Stockbridge Plain School and graduating from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1975.

Karen loved to walk and did so all over Stockbridge. She took many bus trips with her sister Linda Touponce, who was also her best friend. Together they explored many places, but treasured their trips to the ocean. She loved babies and puppies, neither of which she had of her own. She enjoyed going to tag sales and holiday bazaars. She worked as a housekeeper for many different employers over the years before falling ill.

Karen is predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Geraldine Pergola and Betty Homich, her brother-in-law, Edward Homich and her nephew Steven Pergola. She is survived by her sister Linda Touponce, her brother-in-law, Louis Pergola, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside burial service will be on Monday August 24th at 11:00 at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Stockbridge, MA.
