Katherine Malancyk, 91, died Sunday morning at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. She was born in New York City on March 29, 1924, the daughter of Peter and Pauline Olonko Malancyk. She attended schools in New York City. She worked as a seamstress in New York and later as a Ward Nurse at Pilgrim State Hospital in Brentwood, NY. She moved to Pittsfield in 1998 and was a communicant of St. Mark's Church. Ms. Malancyk is survived by: two nephews; August Sena of Hillsdale, NY and Anthony Luchi of Pittsfield, MA and one niece; Norma Sonsini of Lee, MA. A funeral service for Katherine Malancyk will be on Thursday, December 31st at 2 PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday starting at 1 PM until the time of the service.
