Marcia Jones Mahoney, 75, of North Main Road in Otis, died Monday, Sept 14th at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with her family at her side. Born in Otis on October 30, 1939, the daughter of Henry and Edna May Barlow Jones, Marcia was educated in the Otis Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Lee High School. She earned her degree in early childhood education from Vermont College in 1961. Marcia taught pre-school and Kindergarten in various school districts until her marriage to Roland Mahoney on May 3, 1968. Her beloved husband died on March 29, 2006. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her faith in God guided her life and she loved playing hymns and gospel music on the piano and organ. Marcia is survived by her daughter Lori Mahoney of Otis and her sister Elizabeth Tower of Lee as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Blanche Burke and Marie Wright. A memorial service will be held on Monday evening September 21st at 6:30p.m. at the Open Door Church, 20 Franklin Street, Lee. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society in care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St. Lee, MA 01238.
