Peter O. Murray, 64, of South Main Street, Sandisfield, MA died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Berkshire Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Winsted, CT on November 27, 1949, he was the son of Paul J. and Teresa Morvidelli Murray, Sr. Peter was the owner and operator of The New Boston Store in Sandisfield for forty years until retiring in 2012. He enjoyed seeing the faces of family and friends in the store every day. He was an EMT on the Sandisfield Ambulance Squad for twelve years in the 1970's and 1980's. Peter enjoyed fishing in the Farmington River, woodworking and spending time with his family. Peter is survived by his wife, the former Susan C. Campetti, whom he married March 21, 1970. He also leaves a daughter, Megan A. Murray, of Lee, and a son, Michael P. Murray and his wife, Katherine, and their children, Gavin, Claire, Ryan, Maggie and Maeve, of Lee, as well as two sisters; Mary Lopardo and her husband, Joseph, and Helen Centrella and her husband, Patrick, all of Winsted, CT. He also leaves his mother in- law, Carol Campetti and sister in- law Doreen Murray, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Paul J. Murray, Jr. The funeral for Peter Murray will be held Friday, January 3 at 9:15 AM at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Ann's Church, Lenox, with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Sandisfield Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home Thursday, January 2 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cub Scout Pack 45 of Lee in care of the funeral home.
