Peter Scott Simmons, Jr, 53, of Pittsfield, formerly of Lee, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center. Peter was born May 14, 1970 to Peter S. and MaryAnn Coles Simmons, Sr. He was raised and educated in Lee. Those left behind to cherish Peter's memory are his mother, MaryAnn; his three children: Molly (Zack), Haley, and Keegan; his sister, Kelly DeVarennes Hebler and her husband, Charles; his brother, Craig and his partner, Rachel Tarnauskas; his cousin, Corey Heath and his wife, Kate; his fiancee, Donna Daly Keen; his nephews, Jed and Alex; and many close family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter S. Simmons, Sr. Whether it was Keene, NY in the vast Adirondacks or a special hometown peak known as the Pinnacle, in the Appalachian Mountains, Pete relished every solo and family hiking, camping, and rock climbing adventure.  Other impassioned pursuits involved gamified storytelling with friends he thought of as brothers, reading, and attaining a black belt in karate.  And, in Slang, he really was "Hot Stuff". Visiting hours for Pete will be held on Monday morning, December 4, from 10 to Noon at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. In honoring Peter's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services or burial. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in his honor to the Adirondack Mountain Club at https://adk.org/donate/ or mail checks made out to ADK to Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
