Robert C. Akey, 63, of LasVegas, Nevada, formerly of Lee, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Valley Hospital in LasVegas. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 28, 1950, the son of Josephine M. Puleri Akey and the late Elmer R. Akey. He was educated in the Lee Schools and was a 1970 graduate of Lee High School. He had worked for Dave's Auto in Lee until moving to Las Vegas in 1979, where he worked at various auto dealerships. Besides his mother, Josephine M. Akey of Lee, Robert leaves his brother, Paul J. Akey and Paul's wife, Debbie, of Pittsfield. The funeral for Robert Akey will be held Thursday, March 20 at 9:15 AM from the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Lee, with the Rev. John K. Sheaffer, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, March 19 from 4-7 PM. Friends wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
