Anderson Ramirez Hernandez Obituary

Anderson Steve Ramirez Hernandez (AKA “Keke/Keiks/Steven”), 33, passed away suddenly on February 28, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center after weeks of fighting complications caused by a heart infection.

Anderson was born at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, MA on August 24, 1991, the third of four children born to Reina Hernandez and Felipe Ramirez. He attended Lee Public Schools and graduated from Lee High School in 2010 where he was a proud member of the Lee High Football team.

Keiks grew up in both Pittsfield and Lee and had been recently employed by Hook & Loom Rug Company in Pittsfield, MA. Keiks was also a loyal employee of the Locker Room Sports Pub in Lee, MA, where he worked in the kitchen for many years.

If you knew Keiks, he was most likely rocking Patriots or Celtics gear, pulled from his extensive hat and jersey collection. If you ever got the chance to see him yell at a TV during a game, you’d know instantly that he was a die-hard football and basketball fan. When not watching sports, Keiks most likely had one of the eight Harry Potter movies playing in the background. He was the perfect blend of sports fan and film nerd and was proud of it. Keiks loved dancing and had an appreciation for all genres of music ranging from the Temptations to Lauryn Hill to Bad Bunny. Steven’s friends and family were his entire world. He always put the needs of others before his own and was such a bright soul who always made those around him feel a sense of immediate comfort upon meeting him. Steven was a teddy bear of a man, husky and protective on the outside, and extremely sensitive and affectionate on the inside. If you ever got the privilege to be on the receiving end of one of his big bear hugs, you’d know that the love he had to give was so strong. Steven had an appreciation for cooking and eating, especially when it came to ethnic foods. Although allergic, Steven was a lover of dogs, especially Butters, the dog he co-raised with his brother Ever. Steven was protective of those he loved and wasn’t afraid to show it.

Steven is survived by his parents Reina Hernandez and Felipe Ramirez, his siblings David “Alex” Hernandez and wife Tamara Beet-Hernandez, Ever Ramirez Hernandez, and Karen Ramirez Hernandez. He also leaves behind his beloved niece Lael Beet and nephew Kadin Hernandez. Steven also leaves behind hundreds of beloved friends and family members whose love showed true well before and during his final days. Steven touched so many lives in his short time on this Earth, to name them all would be impossible.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at both Berkshire and Baystate Medical Center, for their extraordinary care throughout Steven’s last weeks spent there.

Keiks will be missed beyond measure, but his legacy will live on through his beloved family and friends. Until we meet again Keiks. “Weeee!!!”
