Barbara Lillian (Smith) Bracknell

Barbara Lillian Smith Bracknell of, Stockbridge MA, passed away peacefully at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, MA on September 30, 2021. She was 99 years of age.

Born in Walpole, NH, her parents Roy and Mary Smith, relocated to High Lawn Farm Lee, MA to work and raise their two daughters. She was a class of 1940 graduate of Lee High School and loved home economics. She worked at Benjamin's Pharmacy in Stockbridge, MA. Barbara was a gifted seamstress and produced many handmade treasures in her lifetime.

In the summer of 1947, Barbara married Robert E. Bracknell and they were proud active residents of Stockbridge the remainder of their lives. 

After nearly 52 years together, Bob Bracknell predeceased her in 1999. 

Barbara is survived by her daughter Robin B. Fox and her two grandchildren, Lauren Fox of San Jose, CA and Jason Fox of Arlington, MA.

A graveside service and burial was held for family and special friends of Barbara on October 8, 2021 at the Stockbridge Cemetery.

A Memorial Service for Barbara S. Bracknell will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge, 4 Main Street, Stockbridge.  A reception is planned for the family to receive friends following the service in the Jonathon Edwards Room adjacent to the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge or Stockbridge Library Museum & Archives in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
