Benjamin A. Loring, Sr, 74, of E. Otis, died Sunday, March 27, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Ben was born in Tyringham, September 14, 1947, the son of Charles M. Loring, Sr. and Beatrice Rowley Loring. He was a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 1965. Mr. Loring entered the United States Air Force in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1970, serving an additional two years in the reserves.
Ben married the former Roberta Deane on February 28, 1970.
Ben worked at the Rack Factory in Tyringham, Southern Berkshire Welding, and Rising Paper/Fox River Paper Company and retired from Neenah Paper. Mr. Loring was an avid hunter and enjoyed all aspects of gardening and yard work.
Besides his wife, Roberta, Mr. Loring leaves behind his son, Benjamin A. Loring, Jr; his daughters: Robin Loring and Kelly Loring; his brothers: Russ Loring and his wife, Margaret, and Joe and his wife Evelyn; his sister, Rose Alward; and his grandchildren: Jarrett Dohn and Zachary Loring.
Mr. Loring was predeceased by his brothers, James and Charles “Tunk” Loring; his sister, Ada Elaine Loring; and his nephew, Joseph Loring, Jr.
Calling Hours for Benjamin A. Loring, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 4-6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home.
