Claire Tisdale Obituary

Mrs. Claire Lancey Tisdale, 105, of Lenox, passed away on Wednesday evening, September, 21, 2022 at Mount Carmel Care Center.

Claire was born in Leominster, MA on February 5, 1917, the daughter of Erlon and Mildred Hannigan Lancey. She was raised and educated in Leominster and a 1935 graduate of Leominster High School. On June 6, 1936 she married Leon P. Tisdale. Together they moved to Lee in 1958 and in 1984 to Lenox. Mr. Tisdale died January 4, 1999.

Mrs. Tisdale enjoyed needle work and produced many beautiful embroidery pieces which are cherished amongst her family. In younger years, Mrs. Tisdale enjoyed gardening and thoroughly enjoyed her weekly shopping trips to North Street with her gal pals. Claire also cherished her vacations at Hampton Beach, NH which she took for many decades with family and extended family

Mrs. Tisdale leaves behind one son, Leonard J. Tisdale, Sr., and his wife, Joan of Lee; four daughters: Sheila T. Maroni, of Lee, Perry-Lee A. Lussier, of Leominster, Keri J. Soules and her husband, Thomas, of Becket, and Holly M. Baccoli, and her husband, Michael, of Lee; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Besides her husband, Leon, Mrs. Tisdale was predeceased by her sons-in-law; Ronald Lussier and James Maroni; and her brother, Harold Lancey.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Claire Tisdale will be held Wednesday, September 28th at 11:30AM at the First Congregational Church in Lee, burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of ones’ choice.
