Darryl Hunter Lyman, 60, passed away at his home, unexpectedly, in his sleep on May 21, 2025.
Darryl was born in Pittsfield on February 11, 1965, the son of the late Douglas Lyman and Edith Sohl Lyman. While Darryl suffered from serious physical and medical challenges brought on from exposure of Rubella before birth, he overcame many obstacles through his determination, the unconditional love of his family and the exceptional care and love from his extended family at the Stockbridge House where he made his home for the last 39 years.
Darryl treasured his time spent going to the park where he would love to swing. He was a beautiful human being who brought joy to those who knew him.
Besides his mother, Edith, Darryl leaves behind his brothers, Douglas, Daniel, and Dale; several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Stockbridge House.
There are no formal services scheduled.
My Little Man by Edith Lyman
Our Dear Sweet Darryl
On that fateful day
The angels came and took you away
They wrapped you in a cloak of love
Then took you to God right up above
The love you gave will never die
Even though we had to say goodbye
Your spirit of love remains in our heart
even though for a while we are apart.
