David Joyner

David (Dave) Joyner born on December 4, 1963 to Thomas and Lillian (Rougeau) Joyner passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dave grew up in Lenox Dale and graduated Lenox Memorial High School in 1982. Dave worked many years in the food industry starting in the kitchen at the Red Lion Inn, followed by many years at Canyon Ranch and most recently Wohrles.

Dave loved being outdoors and was happiest on two wheels, whether he was tackling a mountain biking trail with his buddies or enjoying a long ride on the open road. He could also be found around the neighborhood on one of his several unicycles or playing a game of unihockey, hiking or golfing. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Bruins, Green Bay Packers and Boston Red Sox and always looked forward to an annual trip to cheer on the Sox with his kids. Dave had a life-long love of music and enjoyed any opportunity to see live music whether it was a local band at a brewery or any of his favorite bands and musicians.

Although known by his siblings as the worst driver in his family, his kids will never forget Dave’s driving tours through south county, his support from the sidelines of any sport (even when it meant him getting kicked out of a game) and his love of ice cream and sun sets. Dave will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor, his extensive collection of hats and his love for an adventure (as long as there were snacks to prevent Hangry Dave from coming along).

Dave is survived by his parents Thomas and Lillian Joyner, loving wife Tina Joyner, children Jacqui (husband Matt) Campbell, Andrew (wife Meg) Joyner and Maxwell Joyner, stepchildren Amanda (husband Josh) Reis and Sean (wife Dora) McLaughlin, adored grandchildren Jackson and Colton Campbell, Greylan Reis and Molly Joyner, and siblings Kathy (husband Jeff) Giacoletto, Thomas (wife Becky) Joyner, Gary (wife Vicki) Joyner and Maryann (husband Chris) Dupuis and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

The family would like to thank all the hospital staff at UMass Memorial, Berkshire Medical Center, and Fairview Hospital for their care and support of Dave throughout his battle.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, at 1PM, at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service at the funeral home from 11:00 to 1:00.

Dave/Dad, you are now unburdened and free, navigate those scenic climbs and endless descents to where the horizon meets the sky.
