Donna Lee Morawiec

Donna L. Morawiec, 78, of Reservoir Road in Lee, died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Pittsfield on March 12, 1945. She was a lifetime resident of Lee and a graduate of Lee High School.

She worked for the Association of Marian Helpers in Stockbridge for 35 years retiring in 2014.  She was the Past Matron of the Morning Star Chapter order of the Eastern Star numerous times, served as Grand Electa in 1984 and as Deputy Grand Marshal and Deputy Grand Matron.  She also served on the Charitable Foundation of the Massachusetts Order of the Eastern Star board for many years.  She enjoyed camping with her family and spending winters in Florida. 

Donna is predeceased by her parents: Bradford and Thelma Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Morawiec, whom she married on September 13, 1964; two sons: James M. Morawiec and his wife Holly of Lee and Thomas O. Morawiec of Lee; her brother: Dennis Welch and his wife Kathy of Lenox and her sister: Cynthia Smith of Lee; three grandchildren: Lydia F. Morawiec, Bradford S. Morawiec and his fiancé Ashley of Georgia and Alek O’Brien and his fiancé Sarah of Westfield, MA; her great granddaughter Aubrie Joyce O’Brien.

Visiting hours for Donna Morawiec will be at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee on Thursday, June 29th, starting at 4 PM and concluding with an Eastern Star Service at 5:45 PM.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 30th at 1 PM at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.  Friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home   3 Main Street   Lee, MA   01238.
