Dorothy Mottarella Obituary

Dorothy Mary Mottarella, 103, of Lee, passed away on December 30, 2021.

She was born in Lee on March 30, 1918 the daughter of Luigi and Florinda (Lena) Cuillo. She was raised and educated in Lee and, at the time of her death, Mrs. Mottarella was the oldest living citizen of the Town of Lee and had received the Silver Cane award.

Mrs. Mottarella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in 2003.

Dorothy is survived by her nephews: Michael Fern, Francis Cuillo Jr., and Wayne Cuillo; her nieces: Patricia Haley, Maria Butler, Joanne Johnson, Carol Cuillo, and Sharon Cuillo. In addition, Mrs. Mottarella leaves behind Elizabeth Fofie her beloved caregiver and companion for the last five years.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers a donation to St. Mary’s Church for the maintenance and upkeep of the Oratory would be appreciated or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires and mailed in care of  Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St, Lee, MA 01238.
