Dorothy “Dottie” Barnum, 70, of Pittsfield, former long-time resident of Lee, passed away at her home with her caregiver at her side.
Dottie was born in Webster, MA on December 17, 1953, raised in the Belchertown area and eventually met Lewis “Butch” Barnum and moved to Lee where she became a local fixture.
Dottie was well loved and loved life to its fullest. She enjoyed her trips to Florida with her best friend and caregiver, Regina Peltier, with whom she made her home with for the past seven years. She was a kind, caring and compassionate person. Dottie also loved shopping for a bargain with her friends.
Besides her caregiver and friend, Regina Peltier, she leaves behind her sister-in-law, Helen Moening, her friend, Paul Derby, and her cherished cat, Mitten.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, 11AM at the Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington where she will be laid to rest next her husband, “Butch.” There are no calling hours.
