Edward R. "Ted" Lynch

December 27, 1934 ~ August 24, 2024 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Edward Lynch Obituary

Edward "Ted"  Lynch, of Lee,  passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2024. 

Ted was born on December 27, 1934 in Pittsfield, MA, the son of the late Edward & Mary Weatherhead Lynch. He was a 1952 graduate of Lee High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1953-1957. He went on to work as a Systems Analyst in the Ordinance Department of General Electric for 35 years. Upon his retirement he then went to work for 10 years at Lee Hardware. 

Ted married the former Nancy Bartini on September 5th, 1960. They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary next week. 
Ted was a member of the Lee Zoning Board of Appeals, an officer in the Berkshire Beagle Club as well as a member of the Adams Pigeon Club. He enjoyed racing pigeons, raising poultry and breeding field trial Beagles. 

He also enjoyed woodworking, walking with Nancy and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants. Each year he looked forward to wintering in Florida with Nancy, where they made many special friends. 

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Edward (Natalie) Lynch; and his daughters: Susan Martino, Stephanie (Todd) Burdick and Stacey (Peter) LaRock. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Alyssa (James) Sena, Neena (Kore) Martino, Luke (Abigail) Martino, Tony (Julia) Martino, Samantha (Kyle) Burdick, Stone (Ricci) Burdick, Connor and Maddy LaRock; and his great-grandchildren: Sloan & Maverick Sena, Savannah Martino and Mance Burdick.

He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Gelpi and brother, Robert Lynch. 

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 30th at 10:00AM at St Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow at St Mary's Cemetery. Per Ted's wishes, there will be no calling hours. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Phelps Cancer Center (Hillcrest Campus) in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
