Edwin G. Fein, 82, of Lee, formerly of Hanover, MA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 1, 2021.
Ed was born on June 9, 1939, the son of Edwin B. and Beatrice A. (Richardson) Fein. He attended school in Quincy, MA graduating in 1957. He enlisted in the USMC Reserves and proudly served for several years furthering his love of the Corps. Ed then went on to graduate from Boston State College in 1967 and began his 36-year career as an Earth Science teacher at Pierce Middle School in Milton, MA.
He was an active participant and long-time devoted member of Resurrection Church in Hingham, MA. He became a member of St. Mary’s Church in Lee, MA where he recently moved to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Ed always loved to play sports-- anything from golf to tennis to basketball though he is best known for his long walks around town, both in Hanover and Lee. Ed enjoyed life and tried to make the most out of each day. Whether it was meeting his children, siblings, or friends out for drinks, popcorn or a meal, Ed jumped at any and every chance to spend time with them. His fierce love for and encouragement of his children and grandchildren will be forever treasured.
Those left behind to cherish Ed’s memory are his children: Julie Shea and her husband Steven of Apopka, FL, Edwin Fein and his wife Megan of Plymouth MA, Elizabeth Sparks and her husband, Christopher of Tyringham, MA, Christine Reardon and her husband Robert of St. Johnsbury, VT, and Michael Fein of Hinsdale, IL; his grandchildren: Steven, Amanda, and Caitlin Shea, Eddie, Brianna, and Matthew Fein, Sophie Sparks, Emily Stevens, Bobby, Jeremy, and Abby Reardon, and James, Kelly, and William Fein; his great-grandsons, Benjamin and Ezekiel Stevens, and a great-granddaughter who is due to be born in November; his siblings, Virginia Soule of Hingham, MA, Charles Fein and his wife Mary Ellen of Weymouth, and William Fein and his wife Jeannie of Braintree; as well as many nieces, nephews, their families, and friends.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 16, 2021, 10AM at Resurrection Church in Hingham, MA. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, MA.
