Elvin J. Bartini, 90, a lifelong resident of Lee passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at Lee Healthcare.
Born February 19, 1931 to Joseph and Eva Bartini, Al graduated from Lee High School in 1949. He entered the Army in March of 1952. Before leaving for Germany for two years, he returned home to marry the love of his life, Rita Ranzoni on July 5, 1952; a marriage that lasted 68 years until her death in April of this year. Rita and Al had three sons and a daughter who grew up in a house that he helped build on Fairview Street in Lee; a very loving, welcoming home that he and Rita shared for 61 years. He worked for 36 years at the former Lee Lime Corp. retiring in 1993.
In their retirement years, Rita and Al wintered in Florida and maintained very active social lives dancing, playing cards and visiting their many, many friends. They were inseparable, some say “attached at the hip”.
Al is survived by his four children: Mark and his wife Colleen, of Richmond; Kevin and wife Charlene, of Lee; Timothy and his wife Heather, of Pittsfield; and daughter Valerie and husband Brian Middleton, of Otis.
He also leaves his six loving grandchildren who called him Gramps: Kevin Bartini, Jr. and his wife Jessica; Kristen Bartini Naffah and her husband Matt; Hannah Bartini Casucci and her husband Stefan; Dean Bartini, Jacob Middleton and Sara Middleton. His grandson Andrew Bartini predeceased him in 1999. Gramps also leaves five great grandchildren who will miss him dearly; Olivia and Lincoln Naffah, Samuel, Joseph and Thomas Casucci.
Along with many nieces and nephews he leaves his sisters June Fromma and Carol Gangell; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Peck Gangell; Rosemary and Jim Dellea; and John and Eileen Ranzoni.
