Mrs. Esther R. Yetz, 95, of Lee, passed away at the Landing at Laurel Lake on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
Esther was born in Lee, October 1, 1928, the daughter of Andrew and Angeline Pompi Sbrozzi. She was raised and educated in Lee. Esther married Russell J. Yetz on June 18, 1949. Her husband passed away March 1, 2003.
In addition to raising her daughters, Mrs. Yetz was the bookkeeper for her husband's Lenox Amoco Service Station for many years. Mrs. Yetz was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and had been a member of Our Lady's Oratory. In her younger years, Mrs. Yetz was active in the church and St. Mary's School volunteering in its lunch program, Bingo, bazaar, and many other facets. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, knitting and reading.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Cindy Lee Dickson, and her husband, Joe; Joanne Yetz-Aldape, and her husband, Rob; Marilyn Yetz Miles, and her husband, Bob; three grandchildren: Pablo Aldape, Bobby Russell Miles, Joseph Chad Miles; and her nieces and nephews: Karen, Susan, Mark, Mike, and Marie.
Besides her husband, Russell, Esther was predeceased by her two sisters: Frances Carmon and Viola Troppe.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 20, 2023, 10AM at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Visiting Hour will be held the morning of from 9-9:45AM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Yetz's memory may be made to either Hospice Care in the Berkshires or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Checks written to either may be mailed in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
