Mrs. Eugena (Jeanne) Madeline Bourdon of Lee, Massachusetts, passed away July 3, 2025 in Berkshire Medical Center after an extended illness at the age of 86. She was born in Readsboro, VT to Moisey and Anna Havreluk on November 26, 1938.
In Readsboro, Jeanne helped on the family farm and spent many hours working in father Moisey’s store. She stayed actively involved with all her siblings throughout her life, making frequent trips to Vermont for holidays and family events.
Jeanne attended schools in Readsboro and graduated from St. Joseph High School, North Adams, MA Class of 1957, and St. Joseph Business College in Bennington VT. Employed by Sprague Electric after graduation, she then met Bill in July 1962, and they were married on December 29 of the same year. Bill and Jeanne began their married life in Lee, MA where they had 3 children and purchased a house on Joseph Ave. Jeanne dedicated her life to being a homemaker and was also along-time care provider for school teacher’s children, as well as her daughter Jennifer. Her care extended to the elderly friends of her community. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, writing letters, sending greeting cards and spending time with her eight grandchildren. Jeanne also found joy in hosting parties, giving gifts, and collecting bells and cardinals. She was long time communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lee, MA. She was dedicated to the love of her life Bill Bourdon, to whom she enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Bourdon, Son Jon (Crysta) Bourdon, and Daughters Jennifer Bourdon and Melanie (Bruce) Reynolds. Also survived by grandchildren Alicia (Justin) Roccabruna, Joshua Bourdon, Traci Bourdon, Brett Bourdon, Alex (Veronica) Lowther, Kensley (Steven) Harris, Zachary Reynolds and Caden Bourdon, great-grandchildren Greyson, Eden and Liam, as well as several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Jeanne was predeceased by parents Moisey, Anna Havreluk, sisters Mary, Peggy, Melvina, and Catherine, and brothers Carrol, Anthony, Edmund.
Friends will be received at Kelly Funeral Home Thursday, July 10 from 4-6 pm. Liturgy of Christian burial will be Friday, July 11 at 10:30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Carmel Care Center.
