Evan Campbell Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evan Campbell, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on May 16, 2026, at the age of 48, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Through it all, Evan remained a true warrior, continuing to face each day with strength, positivity, and the same spirit that touched everyone around him.

Born on August 4, 1977, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Evan graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1995. He later attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he pursued his first passion, baseball. After a few years, he returned home and eventually began working for Pilling Landscaping, where he discovered another passion and spent many years doing work he truly loved.

Evan never took life too seriously. He was known for his humor, sarcasm, and ability to make people laugh. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, included, and seen. His positivity was contagious, and his presence could light up a room. He also had an incredibly generous heart and would help anyone in need without hesitation. Whether someone needed a hand, support, or simply someone to be there, helping others came naturally to him.

Evan also had a special talent for finding great deals on Marketplace. He loved searching for treasures not only for himself but especially for others. If someone mentioned they were looking for something, chances were Evan had already found a deal and sent it their way. He was truly excellent at it and loved sharing his finds with family and friends. It was just one more way he showed how much he cared and how often he was thinking of others.

Music was one of Evan’s greatest loves. His band, Fire Pitt, was a huge part of his life, and playing music for others brought him immense joy. One of his greatest pleasures was playing alongside his son Tyler, his wife, and core bandmates and inviting anyone around him to join in. He believed music was meant to bring people together, and that’s exactly what he did.

He also loved collecting baseball cards, fishing with his son Cody, as well as watching sports and spending time with family and friends, and creating memories with the people he loved most.

Evan was predeceased by his father, William Campbell.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Mary Lou; his devoted wife, Gina; his beloved sons, Tyler and Cody; his sister, Eileen, and her children Scarlett, Wyatt, Vivienne, and Violett; his sister, Casey, and her children Jacob Dupont and Marianna Dupont; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whom he loved deeply. After his marriage to Gina, Evan quickly became an integral part of the DeSantis family. He was truly loved as a son, brother, and uncle, and was deeply embraced by his in-laws, who considered him one of their own and loved him dearly.

Evan’s love, laughter, strength, and unwavering positivity will live on in all who knew him. Though our hearts are forever changed, we find comfort in knowing that his music, spirit, and love will continue to echo through the lives he touched.

In keeping with Evan's wishes there will be no formal services. Instead, family and friends will gather privately to celebrate his life the way he wanted.
