F. Thomas Kelly Obituary

F. Thomas “Hawk” Kelly, Jr., 84, died peacefully Saturday, June 8th at Lee Health Care with his family by his side.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 4, 1939, the son of Franklin T. and Gladys Cannon Kelly.  He attended Lee Schools and graduated from Lee High School in 1957 where he played football and was on the 1956 Western Mass Championship team.

Tom served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1964.  He worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation in Lee retiring as a Supervisor after 32 years.  He then worked part time in maintenance for the Lee Housing Authority.    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, he was an avid Red Sox fan and an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida for over 25 years.

Tom is survived by his 7 children: Kim E. Walker (Donald), of Lee, Lisa K. Kane (Tim) of Lenox, Sharon M. Keenan (Tom), Tari A. Curley, Mark T. Kelly (Kelly), Keith E. Kelly (Denise), Kevin J. Kelly (Melissa), all of Lee; 19 grandchildren: Christopher, Katelyn, Rachelle Walker,  Cara Scarpa (Mike), Carolyn Hogencamp (Brian), Jeffrey Kane, Amy Carreras, (Justin), Tommy Keenan (Danica), Kelly Gore (Ricky), Matthew Keenan, Ashley Shepardson (Tom), Lisa Curley (Luis), Mikayla and Ben Kelly, Bryan Kelly, Alyssa Farnham (Matt), Kevin Jr., Kaden, and Kyle Kelly; 13 great grandchildren: Sierra Twing, Mitchell and Darren Keenan, Braelyn, Amelia, Declan, Julius and Elijah Gore, Jennie and Ellie Hogencamp, Julia Carreras, Marley Guzman and Kenzie Farnham; his cousin Keith Raftery (Marie); niece Lynn Marie Ryan; nephew Gige Ryan (Alice) and his brother in law George Ryan (Susan).  He is predeceased by: his parents, his sister M. Lynn Kelly Ryan, his aunt Phyllis Judd, his former wife Karen Forrest Kelly and his brother in law Ned Forrest and his wife Marsha.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 19th from 4-6 PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.  A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 20th at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee followed by interment of his ashes in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.  His family would like to thank the staff at Lee Health Care for their special care and where he made many friends.
