Fiona Gangell, 81, of Lee, passed away on Thursday, August 7th at the Lee Health Care. Fiona was born in Dalry Ayshire, Scotland on August 7, 1944, the daughter of William and Agnes Roddie Lammie. She moved to the United States as a young girl and graduated from Williams High School in Stockbridge, MA.
She worked at Monument Mountain High School until 1984 and then for the State of Massachusetts at the Department of Mental Retardation retiring after 17 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandson, Kyle. She was an avid Red Sox Fan.
Fiona is survived by her son: Arthur J. Gangell Jr of Pittsfield and her daughter: Lynn E. Gangell of Lee; her sister: Anna Sinclair of Scotland; her grandson: Kyle and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a granddaughter: Sarah Gangell; her brothers: Alan and David and her sisters: Margaret and Elizabeth.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 18th at 10 AM at the Stockbridge Cemetery in Stockbridge with the Rev. Janet McKinstry officiating.
