Frederick H. Paulmann III, of Stockbridge, passed away on January 18, 2025.   He battled a progressive cancer condition for more than two years and would have turned 79 this spring.
Born May 25, 1946, in New Rochelle, NY, he was the first of nine children of Frederick H. Paulmann, Jr., and Cecilia Donohue Paulmann.
He was taught by Dominican Nuns at Holy Family Elementary School, in New Rochelle, and became an altar boy at the church there, learning the Latin Mass before Vatican II.
He graduated from New Rochelle High School and enlisted in the US Navy.  He was stationed at Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, in Puerto Rico. Back to civilian life again, Fred began many years of work in Harrison, NY, with the National Bank of Westchester, which later became part of Chase. Fred was a loyal and lifelong Yankee baseball fan. Joe Torre, a former manager, was one of Fred’s regular bank customers.
Fred and his wife Marjorie retired to a senior residence in Stockbridge, MA, where they were involved in the Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy Cenacle prayer group. Fred was a lifelong member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the Third Order of Carmelites.
He is survived by his son, Frederick Paulmann IV, of Fairfield, CT, his wife Pam, and their three daughters, Bridget, Anna, and Jane.
He is also survived by seven siblings: John, of Westfield, MA; James, of Las Vegas, NV; Thomas, of Richmond, VA; Francis, Mary, and Catherine of New Rochelle, NY; and Cecilia Kavanah, of Gt. Barrington, MA. His brother Robert, of Springfield, MA, predeceased him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 11am, at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 140 Main St., Lee, MA. There are no visiting hours.
