It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Thomas Baer, 81, of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on November 28, 2022.
George was born and raised in Long Island, son of Francis Baer. George married the love of his life Ann Robinson and moved to join his brother Richard in the Berkshires where they raised their 3 sons John, Jeffrey, and Mark.
George worked for GE, started his own lawn business, and then retired from Marian Helpers Center. He loved working on his antique truck and helping anyone in need. He was often found out for breakfast with one of his many friends, or watching his grandkids at hockey, baseball, and football. He was also famous for his one-liners (such as “everyone has an expiration date”, “keep smiling, it confuses people” and “c’est la vie say the old folks”).
George was predeceased by his wife Ann, son Jeffrey, and brother, Richard.
He is survived by his sons John and Mark; grandchildren Raegan, Bobby and Brynnlee; daughter-in-law Tara; and sister, Wanda Lee. He was deeply loved by his friends and will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to St. Joseph’s Church in care of the Kelly Funeral Home. George was very active in the Church, and it brought him much comfort through his days.
Please join the family Monday, December 5th, 4:00 – 6:00pm at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, for calling hours.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 6th at 10:00am, at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge, MA. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Please join the family and friends following the service at the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club 11:30 – 4:00 to celebrate George’s life.
