It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Gladys LaGrant, on Saturday, April 16th at Lee Healthcare.
She was the daughter of Hugh L. and Effie Stowell Tenney, and was born in Glendale, MA on August 12, 1919 and was one of 9 children. Mrs. LaGrant graduated from the former Williams High School in Stockbridge with a Business education. She married Fred Ray LaGrant in 1939 and worked with her husband in Southern Berkshire Welding taking care of the bookkeeping for many years. Together they built the Pilgrim Motel which Gladys managed. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, attending sporting events of her grandchildren and neighbor’s children and was always available for a game of ball in her yard. Many still stopped by to say Hello and reminisce about the good times they had. In the winter it was the Ski Doo trips to the Camp on the mountain that Gladys loved with family and friends.
