Ilene Marie Fitzpatrick, age 96, of Lee, MA, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2025. A visiting hour will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on September 11, 2025 at Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA. Followed by an 11:00 Mass at St. Ann’s Church, 134 Main Street, Lenox MA. Burial to commence immediately at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee, MA followed by a celebration of life breakfast honoring her at St. Ann’s Family Center in Lenox, MA.
Born on September 11, 1928 during the great depression, Ilene lived in Chicopee, MA with her parents Leo and Pearl Delaney Fitzpatrick and her two sisters, Mary Alice and Ellen. For many years she lived in the town of Belchertown, MA at Belchertown state school and then moved to Lee, MA where some say she spent the final and happiest years of her life.
Ilene was a faithful parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge where she enjoyed Mass and coffee hours each week. She is survived by many friends, in particular Kathryn, Barbara, Scott, Lavern, her friends from Baroco and the support staff at Marble A who lovingly cared for her. She leaves behind her most beloved and best friend of many years, May.
Ilene and May spent many years together as the greatest of friends, enjoying dinners out, attending house parties, taking train rides, going to local parades and making endless trips to Dunkin Donuts. They particularly enjoyed simple afternoons visiting and always found themselves singing and harmonizing their favorite tunes together.
Later in life, during her leisure time, Ilene enjoyed making cards for friends while singing to oldies tunes and watching classic movies at home. She often enjoyed daylong shopping trips, having lunch out and going to the movies. Most of all, everyone knew she could always be found at a St. Patrick’s Day or Fourth of July parade, singing along and stomping her feet to the passing bands.
Following the church service and then burial at Fairmount Cemetery, there will be a breakfast gathering at Saint Ann’s Church Family Center, 134 Main Street, Lenox MA. All are welcome to attend, to honor and celebrate Ilene’s life.
