James D. “Jamie” Curtin, 61, of Tyringham, passed away on November 18, 2022, with family at his side.
Jamie was born April 10, 1961, the son of Peter L. and Deanna Williamson Curtin, Sr.
He was raised in Tyringham and was a graduate of Lee High School.
Jamie enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing over the years, he was also known for being a handyman. He was mechanically inclined and a computer fanatic. He had a passion for music and movies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and having cookouts during the summer months. Jamie was an avid Boston sports follower - Boston Red Sox, The Bruins, and The Patriots. Over the last 7 years Jamie was an active member and dedicated mentor in the NA program and helped start a meeting that takes place every Wednesday night in Tyringham.
Jamie worked as a machine operator in the paper making industry for over 30 years. After high school he was employed by Mead Specialty Paper Division and then continued his employment with Schweitzer-Mauduit. When the Lee mills closed in 2008, Jamie was selected to travel to China to establish operations for the joint venture company. He spent the remainder of his career working for Crane and Company.
Those left behind to cherish Jamie’s memory are his children: Josh Curtin and his wife, Eden, of Tyringham, Nissa Curtin, of Dalton, Asia Curtin, of Lee, Florence Donnelly of Pittsfield, Eric Wickenheisser of Wilbraham and Dorothy Wickenheisser of Arlington, VT; his grandchildren: Dominic Curtin and Shawn Demarsico; his brothers: Peter Curtin and his wife, Missy, and Matthew Curtin and his companion, Joni, all of Tyringham. In addition, he also leaves behind his four nephews: Ethan, Collin, Dillon, and Devin Curtin.
Besides his parents, Jamie was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann Donnelly Curtin in 2015.
Funeral Services for James “Jamie” Curtin will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, 10AM at the Tyringham Union Church with the Rev. Janet McKinstry, officiating. Burial will follow in the Tyringham Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Friday evening, December 2nd from 4 until 6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.
