Jeanne Brown Obituary

Jeanne M. Brown, of Lee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 30, 1942, Jeanne lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity, a gift she inherited from her parents, Ray and Gladys Lagrant.

Jeanne leaves behind a close-knit family who adored her: her two sons, Paul (Susie) and Jeffrey (Lisa); her partner of over 31 years, Ed North; and her cherished granddaughters, Samantha Kate (Jesse) and Abigail Marie, who lit up her world. She is also remembered by her sister, Elaine Matthew, and her nephew, Jim Guachione. Jeanne was predeceased by her nephew, John Guachione.

Jeanne was truly the heart of her family, always putting others first. Whether it was making Jeff’s lunch, preparing Ed’s dinner, or browsing the aisles of Big Y for anything she thought her loved ones might enjoy. Jeanne gave of herself without hesitation. Every act, no matter how small, was done with deep caring for whom she was helping.

Jeanne dedicated herself to a career in nursing, graduating from St. Luke’s Nursing Program while also raising her family, a true testament to her strength and determination. Her compassion and dependability quickly earned her a reputation as one of the most trusted and beloved nurses in the community.

As her children grew older, Jeanne embarked on a new chapter, channeling her entrepreneurial spirit to open Jeanne’s Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop, and later joined her family in purchasing and operating Rossi’s Restaurant, both establishments in Lee, MA.

She continued to share her warmth and dedication through private duty nursing and house cleaning. Whether she was caring for a person or a home, Jeanne approached every task with unmatched care, attention, and love.

Losing someone like Jeanne brings difficult questions: What do you do when someone so deeply loved is called home? Do you cry until it feels like rain, or smile knowing she’s no longer in pain? Can you hold on to the joyful memories even as grief takes hold? Jeanne would want us to try.

Over 83 years, Jeanne touched countless lives, far beyond her family, and her absence will be deeply felt. She was known affectionately as “Granny” or “Grammy Jeanne”.

So, here’s to Jeanne: Smile when you think of her.

As per Jeanne’s wishes, no service will be held.
