John Feltre, a resident of Fairview Street in Lee, passed away September 6th at home with his wife, children and close family friend Eleanor Bartini by his side.
John was a lifelong resident of Lee, graduating from Lee High School in 1953. John married his high school sweetheart Elaine Bartini in 1954 and they enjoyed 67 years together. John enjoyed watching sports, traveling with his wife and friends and attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s games.
John began his career as a butcher working with his father-in-law, Julian Bartini, who ran the Main Street Market in Lee for over 30 years. John later worked for South End Market in Pittsfield, Loebs in Lenox and lastly, Price Chopper in Lee until he retired for good in 2013. John was a loving husband, father, grand and great-grandfather who was loved by all. His smile was infectious and he loved to tell a good joke and laugh.
John leaves behind his wife, Elaine, of 67 years; his son Bob and his daughter, Laurie Hoff. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Feltre and his sister, Theresa Martin. In addition, John leaves behind his grandchildren: Glenn and Shannan Hoff, Bianca Rank and Corey Feltre, and his great-grandchildren: Savannah, Dawson, Jaydee, Parker, Bryce, Blake, Audrey and Calvin.
John was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Feltre; and his son-in-law, Glenn Hoff.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 1PM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to either the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or the Marian Fathers in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
