John Lewis Flynn

John L. Flynn, 78, of Lee passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2021. He was born on June 1, 1942 in Pittsfield to John J. Flynn and Mary A. (Schlatterer) Flynn. He lived in Wilbraham and Belchertown and worked at the Bulk Mail Center in Springfield before retiring to Lee.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and the outdoors as well as traveling with Sandra to Vermont, Cape Cod, and South Carolina. He volunteered for the Berkshire Scenic Railway in his retirement.

 He leaves behind his wife Sandra (Przybycien) Flynn, daughter Kristen Brighenti and her husband Joseph of Lee, son Matthew and his wife Nita of Summerville, SC, and daughter Mary and her husband James Eakin of Holden, along with grandchildren Dylan, Sadie, Miranda, Tori, Kai, Haley, and Olive and great-grandchildren Hunter, Hayden, and Aubrie along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by siblings Robert Flynn (wife Diane) of Pittsfield, Marcia Connolly (husband William) of Woodbridge, VA, Maureen Dixon of Westfield, Brian Flynn (wife Eva) of Hingham, and sister-in-law Winona Whalen (husband Andrew) of West Springfield. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 10AM at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pittsfield. Visiting Hours will be Monday evening, 4-6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.

Face masks and social distancing will be required for the Visiting Hours.  We ask that people enter through the Main Street entrance in the front of the building and exit through our parking lot door. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
