Linda Jo Moran, 85, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. Born May 18, 1940, she was the daughter of Dr. Clarence Ludlow and Lois Whitney.
Linda graduated from Thayer Academy in 1958 and Springfield College in 1962, where she was inducted into both schools’ Hall of Fame for Field Hockey. She continued her studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and earned her Master of Education from Westfield State College in 1992. She devoted her career to teaching.
A lifelong athlete, Linda was an avid golfer who played in hundreds of tournaments, including the Massachusetts Senior Olympics in 2009, and achieved two hole-in-ones. She was also a passionate skier who skied throughout the United States and around the world.
She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Moran Carlino and partner JP Messenkopf; grandchildren Taylor (Jessie), Dylan, and Rachel; great-grandchildren Gio and Luca Carlino; and brother Jeffrey Ludlow (Marcia). She was predeceased by her siblings Whitney Ludlow and Elizabeth Ludlow Spears, and granddaughter Sarah Rose Carlino.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 16, 2026.
