Marion Middleton, 84 died Monday afternoon at her home in Otis surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford, CT on February 1, 1942, the daughter of Anthony and Loretta King Failla.
She moved to Otis at a young age and attended Otis and Lee High School.
Marion was affectionately known to many as Noni. She married her late husband Gerald Middleton on September 10, 1960 and raised 6 children in Otis.
She took on many different jobs as a young wife. She was an Animal Control Officer and a Special Police Officer for the Town of Otis. She was a Cafeteria employee at Otis School. She was a delivery driver for McClelland Drug. She was a certified EMT and head Toll taker for Massachusetts Turnpike Authority.
She was known for her poems, paintings and art creations, and of course her wonderfully colorful jokes. She was the most giving and selfless person to all, and a Mother figure to all children related or not.
Noni is survived by four sons and their wives: Mark and Colleen, Greg and Marji, Brian and Valerie, all from Otis and Blake and Barbara of Dickenson Texas. Two Daughters: Cynthia Paterson and her husband Scott of Blandford and Christine Middleton of Pittsfield; her brother , Myron Hood of Lee, two sisters, Robin Paulson of Otis and Phyliss DeFreest of Stephentown, 19 Grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is predeased by two brothers, Thomas and Larry Failla and her sister Bernice Perry.
A graveside service will be held on Friday June 5th at 10am at Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 4-6 PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care in The Berkshires in c/o The Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main St Lee, MA 01238.
