Mark W. Perry passed away unexpectedly, of natural causes, at home on January 4th , just shy of his 66th birthday.
Born in Pittsfield on January 14,1959 to Arthur Lois Perry and Judith (Bandzin) Perry, Mark
was raised in Lee, a graduate of Lee High School (Class of 1977) and held many jobs over the
years, including butcher at Tanner’s Market, a winder at Schweitzer mill, and computer entry at
County Curtains.
Mark married Bernice M. Hood on October 24,1992. They had two children,
Edward and Laura, before Bernice passed away in April of 2002. Mark never fully recovered
from the loss of Bernice, but carried on to raise Edward and Laura. He enjoyed family outings
to the Herkimer Diamond Mines, Scottish music festivals, riding the bike trail and trips to Wells,
Maine. His hobbies included woodworking, building model airplanes, and fishing, he also
enjoyed canning and making beef jerky.
Mark leaves his son Edward and his daughter Laura. He also leaves his sister BethLynne
(Becky) Durant and Robyn Wemple; his brother-in-law Myron Hood; and sisters-in-law Marion
Middleton, Robin Paulson, and Phyllis DeFreest, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, 11AM - 1PM at the Kelly Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the spring.
