Mary Lucy (Baccoli) Masiero, 92, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Dec. 5, 2025 at Mount Carmel Care Center, Lenox, MA.
Born on January 30, 1933 in Pittsfield, MA, she was the daughter of Francesco and Letizia Baccoli. A lifelong Lee resident, she attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and Lee High School, graduating in 1950. Afterward, she was employed as a secretary working in the offices of Hurlbut Paper Company, South Lee.
Married August 13, 1955 to Valentino (Leno/Val) Masiero at St. Mary’s Church, Lee, and celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary just prior to Val’s death in November of 2014. She and Val raised 4 children in their home on Greylock St.
Mary waitressed in many local area restaurants over the span of 25 years and then was employed by local gift shops until her retirement. Mary had many close friends with whom she enjoyed social activities such as BINGO and card games. For hobbies, she enjoyed tending her home flower gardens, knitting and playing the piano. A devout catholic, she was a faithful Eucharistic Adorer. She was a Senior Member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, G. Marconi Lodge in Lee.
Mary spent her later active years sharing her gift of the piano with others; entertaining at local nursing homes and assisted living residences as well as community events. This continued until Covid forced her retirement. Prior to her infirmity at Mt. Carmel, she resided at Rolling Hill Condominiums in Lenox, Devonshire, Lenox and Sugar Hill Assisted Living, Dalton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her brothers Italo and Michael Baccoli and his wife, Mary.
She is survived by her 2 sisters in law, Hilary Walker Baccoli of Ohio and Mary Masiero of NJ, daughter Lynn Toole (Joseph) of Naples, FL and Lenox, MA, son, CDR David Masiero USCG Ret. (Janet) of Stafford, VA, daughter, Christine Bailey (Kevin) of West Kingston, RI, daughter, Andrea Bouvier (Dr. Joseph, MD) of Queen Creek, AZ. She leaves 12 grandchildren: Luke, Lawrence (Beatriz), Colin (Mary) Toole and Mollie (Mayur) Desai, Angelica (Sam) Kube, Valentina Masiero, Anna Bailey, Samantha, Alessandra, Laura, Maria, Josephine Bouvier. 10 great grandchildren: Maria Toole, Milan, Lyla, Devan, Amelie Desai, Emilia and Sterling Kube, Benjamin, Lawrence Toole and Alice Toole, as well as many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her and many Italian cousins with whom she remained in close contact.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the nurses and staff at Mt. Carmel for their compassionate, loving care provided over these last 2 years. A special thank you to Wendy, Mary’s hospice RN for guiding us through this difficult time with love and compassion.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 12th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Lee.
Calling hours are Thursday, December 11th at the Kelly Funeral Home, Main St., Lee, from 4 to 6 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
